The Fisher Grid

One of the documents in the book is the "Fisher grid," a one-page way that sets out a structure for thinking about and planning projects across media. Here is a Word copy so that you can make more, if you want, or you can fill it in by computer (the cycle, team, etc. stuff are things we use in my class). This is a 2009 revision that also includes a place for slideshows and other items.

Dimensions of Content

This JPG file, which is suitable for use in a PowerPoint or other presentation provides a visual representation of the progression of old "linear" media to new "open" media. It's a good starting point for discussion with students of how "open" they think a news organization should be.dimensonsofcontent.jpg
